5. Service-Specific Terms

5.1 Different types of work (e.g., rewires, EICRs, EV charger installations, consumer unit upgrades) are governed by individual terms and conditions.

5.2 These are attached to the client’s quotation and form part of the contractual agreement.

5.3 Clients are required to read and accept these in full before work begins.

6. Deposits and Payments

6.1 A deposit of 25–50% is required for projects over £500.

6.2 The balance is due within 7 days of completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6.3 Late payments may incur statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

7. Ownership of Materials

7.1 All materials supplied by VLV Electrical Ltd remain the property of the company until paid for in full.

7.2 In cases of non-payment, VLV Electrical Ltd reserves the right to remove or reclaim installed goods, subject to lawful access.

8. Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee

8.1 All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the completion date.

8.2 Manufacturer warranties apply to parts and products supplied.

8.3 The guarantee excludes:

• Client-supplied materials

• Damage by third parties, misuse, or external factors (e.g., water ingress, power surges)

• Normal wear and tear

9. Client-Supplied Equipment

9.1 VLV Electrical Ltd accepts no liability for faults or failures relating to client-supplied fixtures or materials.

9.2 Delays, extra labour, or remedial work due to client-supplied items may be subject to additional charges.

10. Cancellations and Delays

10.1 Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a call-out fee and travel charges.

10.2 Works delayed due to restricted access, site readiness, or client unavailability may be rescheduled or incur additional costs.

11. Site Access and Responsibilities

11.1 Clients must ensure safe and unobstructed access to the site.

11.2 Clients are responsible for:

• Providing access to power, water, and safe working conditions

• Informing VLV Electrical Ltd of any hazards

• Ensuring pets, tenants, or members of the public are kept safe

12. Custom Options and Circuit Design

12.1 Clients can request:

• Preferred styles or brands of sockets/switches

• Specific point layouts per room (e.g., number of sockets/lights)

• Installation of dedicated circuits (e.g., garden buildings, EV supplies, smart home systems)

12.2 These options are included in quotations when discussed during the assessment stage.

13. Variations and Additional Works

13.1 Any change to agreed works must be confirmed in writing.

13.2 Additional work is subject to a revised quote and will proceed only with client approval.

13.3 Verbal variations will be followed up with a written confirmation.

14. Health and Safety

14.1 All work complies with VLV Electrical Ltd’s Health and Safety Policy, which includes RAMS, PPE, and safe working practices.

14.2 Unsafe environments may lead to work being suspended until the issue is resolved.

15. Insurance and Limitation of Liability

15.1 VLV Electrical Ltd holds:

• £2.5 million Public Liability Insurance

• £250,000 Professional Indemnity Insurance

15.2 The company is not liable for:

• Consequential or indirect losses

• Pre-existing faults not disclosed prior to quotation

• Defects caused by misuse, neglect, or third-party interference

15.3 Total liability is limited to the value of the contract.

16. Agreement to Terms

By engaging VLV Electrical Ltd for works of any kind, the client confirms acceptance of:
